Well, since I am the one who caused this, I should also post something else:
Probably one of my best experiences, has been a visit to the Planes of Fame Museum in Arizona. There was this lady there, by her own self, and she could not have been much nicer, helpful and friendlier. She allowed my buddy and me, to go and roam inside the hangars, even before they opened the museum to the public. That place deserves a high five on my list.
Then, the Combat Aviation Museum in Topeka, Kansas, basically everyone I came across, was really nice and helpful.
Not museums per se, but related sites:
The O'Reilly facility in Florida; everyone friendly and helpful.
The Odegaard's places in NDakota; they really make you feel like an old friend, when they have just met you.
Jerry Zollman and all the guys at Vintage Fighters in Indiana; what a bunch of cool guys they are; they work hard, it shows, and still have the time to answer questions and show you around.
One of the worst experiences, that to this day, continues to haunt me:
The Manager at the Frankfort, KY municipal airport terminal; he saw me taking pictures in plain daylight, behind a fence, and reported me to the FBI as a "middle easterner" even after I offered to show him I.D. and explain that I wasn't doing anything illegal since I was on this side of the fence. Long story, FBI came looking to search my apartment, my land lady refused unless they had a search warrant, telephone calls, contacts and so on, but I know that somewhere, there is a file now, with my name on it, associated to taking airplane pictures.
In the long run, almost everything has been good and pleasant, just the exception of some jerks who have do not like "time wasters," "tire kickers" and so on, as witnessed by some aviation ads, forgetting that dreamers and tire kickers are the ones who eventually purchase airplanes; dreamers have helped advance aviation when they have made their dreams become reality.
Best bunch? In my experience, the guys at the Brookshire Air Force, Brookshire International Airport, Brookshire Texas (yeeehaw!!!) You are a friend the moment you walk in, and at the drop of a hat, they will take you up for a ride.
There are more experiences, but this will suffice, I think.
Saludos!
