Ryan--

Great to hear! That reminds me, I remember hearing a few years back that the Snowbirds were looking into replacing the CT-114s with Texan IIs or the Pilatus PC-9? Any truth or movement on this? I think the act is so good with jets...it wouldn't be the same with turboprops.

I agree and so do many others; for the moment of course 431(AD) Sqn is still on Tutors, among the last examples flying. If the team continues past the inevitable retirement of the CT-114 I expect economy will win the day and turboprops will take over. (Or Extra 300s or some such...) However there was, something like a year ago, a movement afoot to see the Snowbirds kept on jets--Hawks, to be precise. Not sure how far that initiative ultimately got.

What would I like to see? The national team should be on jets, I think. How to make that more economical...? Well...assuming the Hawk is the aircraft type chosen, one could reduce the size of the team to six or seven aircraft from nine...and paint the Hawks gold, with a certain red-and-white bird-of-prey graphic down the side...I'm too young to have seen the Golden Hawks. Would love to see a revival!
