"I wonder what their families think of this, are they informed?"

Nope.

That's the only factor that really gets to me over this particular game of politically driven tug-o-war. If the family was involved it would be far easier to share the beliefs of the court on this one. The fact that the families have apparently been discluded from the moral decision of the court forces me to resign this entire argument as little mroe than two children arguing over a toy - for substantially nothing more than argument's sake.

If I discovered that the WWII crashsite of one of my relatives had been discovered, and that the US Navy and some foreign court were making the decision for me as to whether the recoverable remains of my family member rightly belonged at the bottom of some lake - you can damn well bet I'd want a say in the decision!! From all the evidence I've seen, no substantial attempt has been made to contact any living relatives of the deceased.

Neither party is righteous in this fight because neither has gone to the source to secure the will of the families. Treasure hunters and bureaucratic buffoons alike should take heed of what's truly important in a situation such as this. These facts leave me to believe that NEITHER deserve the right to claim these wrecksites as their own.
