Logistically I think the problems could be overcome, but it would be helluva expensive. To find the right kind of terrain (flat, unpopulated, runways available) you can only go to remote places in the UK. I think, for example, it could be done at Campbelltown (Macrihanish). But places like that are a bit out of the way for the racegoing fans, which makes it financially improbable, even if the warbird owners could be persuaded to participate. Is there TV and sponsorship money in it? Reno doesn't achieve much in a target-rich environment (compared to Europe). It's a very difficult sport to captureon TV.

The most practical suggestion I have is for one of the major shows to pick up the idea employed at Oshkosh this year, when they staged a mock unlimited race. For me it was the highlight of the show - you certainly got the sight and sound of Reno. This could be done legally and relatively easily in the UK, and would help some show or other with a new "angle"
