Mark Sheppard (USSR Recoveries)

After rifling through Warbirds Worldwide Journal issues #1 through #40, it's clear that author Mark Sheppard has been intimate with the recoveries that have taken place in the former USSR since the early 1990s.

Mark, if your hanging around, is there a chance you have a complete listing of the types & numbers of aircraft recovered out of Russia? I'd be quite curious to see a complete rundown of the various airframes, their recoverers, and their current locations!

I've never seen an all-encompassing report on these aircraft (possibly due to the fact that the former USSR countries are still yielding treasures to this day). I ponder over the disposition of these planes quite often and I think it would be great if a general assessment of all known recovered airframes from the former USSR was assembled into a single publication.

Over the last few days I've quickly become a fan of your reporting over the last decade. Keep up the good work :)
