It was traded to the AFM for one or more(?) C-130s which were then sold and the money went to the company itself not the museum. EV is a strange place indeed. I don't think the final product is what Mike Smith envisioned. A number of airplanes have been sold off for quick cash. I'm sure if someone walked in with a suitcase full of money anything there would be for sale museum or not.
