I saw the crash happen some 80 mtrs in front of me that day. There was indeed a fireball, but it didn't burn that long. What remainded was the entire tailsection, broken off on inpact with the boundery fence, which was unburned and in one (but very dented)piece. The centre section (with the cockpit)was badly burned, but still in one piece, as were the burned wings. I haven't seen the engine after the crash, but the prop was burried half in the ground. In total, what remained was good enough for a static restauration. The wreck lied on the field for some weeks, under a large plastic sheet, and was later removed to a hangar. After that, I was told, it was scrapped. Can not confirm this for a 100% however. It hs however left the airfield as i was in all the hangars and it wasn't there anymore. Go there again in early December, check out the story again then. BW Roger
