: Hi all,
:
: We all know the stories and the opinions in warbird land a

:
: The major concern was that it was not a Halifax but a seri

: Hastings and newbuilt tail and nose sections.
:
: The tail was built by apprentices at BAe Brough, so was do

: by using wooden frames and aluminium stringers and skin.
:
: Now, suppose the IWM willing to give up their nose section

Interesting question. Personally, I'd say leave well alone. At present we have a very good Halifax reconstruction standing on it's legs on an old Halifax station, and a genuine Halifax nose in a museum where the general public can get reasonably close to it. PN323 is important in her own right, as indeed is 'HR792'. By combining the two, we would lose a very rare representation of a Halifax in one of these locations. I also wonder whether 'HR792's structure would be able to support the heavier genuine nose section of PN323.
