...of Sellersburg, Indiana to have their beautiful FG-1D airworthy by the end of the year. The plane is basically complete other than the wings and the paint job.
For those who haven't seen the quality of work on this plane, it's pretty darned amazing. It's not a stock restoration. Rather it's a contemporary work of classic art! This think is polish, right down to every last hydraulic line.
This is yet another of the ex-Salvadoran FG-1Ds brought back during the early 1970's. It will be the 5th of 7 Salvadoran Corsairs that will ultimately return to the skies. The other two El Salvador FG-1Ds currently being restored belong to Frank Arrufat (BuNo.92489), and Dave Etchell (BuNo.92690).
