Hi Michel,

Glad too hear the trip went well and you managed to squeeze in as many places as you did. Both Air Spray and Buffalo Airways seem to be pretty accommodating showing people around. I'm surprised Air Spray may be leaving Alberta, last summer you couldn't get enough air tankers in BC to fight the forest fires as well some areas in Alberta! Also did you manage to see or talk about their F-86?

The Reynolds museum is well worth a visit, too bad you didn't get in the storage area, when I last talked to Byron, he listed off some the stuff he has in there and all I can say is wow! Overall the museum has a very impressive collection of aircraft and going there is a must for anyone who reads this forum.

Sounds like you'll need to plan another trip out west to visit the places you missed.

As for the staffing of Canada's aviation museum's, you're right, if not for the efforts of many of the old timers, the museums would be closed, inaccessible or not exists at all! I never realized their value until I was a director with a museum and worked with them seeing first hand how they support the museums as a work force and financially. Even though many are on a limited income, they still donate money to the museums to keep it afloat. True champions of the preservation movement!

BTW, are you still involved with the museum that bought the Bolingbroke from the Canadian Museum of Flight? I'm interested to hear if there is any progress on its restoration.
