I saw Bockscar in July 1995 for the first time. I wasn't expecting to see it, and I can't describe how powerful it was when I realized what I was looking at. Sure it is a fine example of the technology of the time, but it was an even better reminder of a time in history, and I was nose-to-nose with that reminder.

Whether you agree or not with the way WWII was brought to a close it doesn't matter. "Those who do not remember the past are condemned to relive it." (George Santayana) I hope those events are not repeated/paralleled, and if Bockscar and Enola Gay play a part in reminding us of the past so we and our nations can make wise decisions in the future, well that is just fine with me.

I am not sure if I understand the controversy with how Enola Gay is to be display. I would suggest it should be displayed with a sign indicating it was the bomber used to drop the atomic bomb Hiroshima. Nothing more is needed. Let the significance of the event do the rest.

Just my $0.02 worth.

Regards,

Mike
