No fake, Michel! I'm at the office and don't have acces to all my aviation reference books, but several B-17's were used for experimental engine testing; both during and after the war. I seem to recall that the old pre-tornado Bradley Air Museum owned one of the five-engine B-17's once used for this type of testing. I believe that this airframe spent some time at Tom Reilly's shop in Kissimee (sp?) Florida as well. Can anyone out there (with sources at hand) help me with my deteriorating memory?
