: Does anyone know if this museum located in Lancaster,Ca is
: still open?
I just had to return to Porterville from Fox this morning due to a shuffle of the "Airtanker in California" deck.I saw this question late yesterday but wasn't able to ask the base manager any specific questions cocerning the museum. If it is the one that used to be located between the tanker base and the park,it no longer exists. There is still Hemet Valley Flying Service's old C-119 Tanker 82,an Argosy(I think-like a Boxcar with 4 Darts although the engines are missing) and a C-97 with most of the fabric on the rudder deteriorated away, and an empty hangar. The F-111,TF-102,Howard Hughes' old A-20,and whatever other A/C that were there the last time that I spent time at Fox 6-8 years ago are gone.Today is "Musical Airtanker" day. From Fox to San Bernadino:T-66/DC-7,T-14/DC-4,T-22/P-3,T-21/P-3.From Fox to Porterville:T-62/DC-7.From Fox to Santa Barbara:T-140/P-2.From Porterville to San Bernadino:T-16/P-2,T-01/P-2.From Porterville to Fox:T-10,T-06,T-12,and T-O5,all p-2's.Go figure...LK
