Dark Blue World Ship and Models

Hi!
I re-watched DBW yesterday with a friend who had never seen it and I wonder what is the ship on which Susan's husband was unto. It doesn't look like a British battleship, maybe a cruiser? It looks big! You can see the picture in the scene where Karel gets shot down and walks to the home.
Also, anyone spotted the ID models in the English lesson classroom? I can see an Avenger, a Stirling and a C-47, but there are three more that I can't nail. One looks like a Curtiss XP-55!!!
Hehe. I think that's a nice challenge to find those answers!
