Brad et al--

Not sure it's the same issue (if it is, it's been assembled FAST!), but I emailed Dave a pic for a piece he was working on for CWD, last week. Three weeks before that, I didn't even know Dave aside from his WIX posts. "Met" him (in cyberspace, that is) via Mike Henniger...whom I also got in touch with via WIX (though in that case we're halfway across a province from each other instead of halfway round the globe). That two airshow-goers/shutterbugs in Ontario would end up being able to provide an assist to a Warbird feature author in New Zealand kind of says it all, eh!

In my case, I'm better-abreast of the Warbird scene now than I've been since at least the mid-80s when I worked at CWH--and the news hurtles round the world that much faster electronically than it did in print in the 80s, too. Always have to get "my WIX fix" preferably daily or I feel I'm missing something. In terms of info, I've been able to track Soplata and Simmons collection airframes; get timely gen on upcoming shows/events; locate esoteric stuff like the markings on Oscar Boesch's Fw190...either on WIX directly or via my numerous WIX contacts I now consider friends and look out for at the shows they tell me are coming!

In short: camaraderie and timely info. Exactly what a "hobby" forum like this one is for.
