Dear Ollie,
Nice model! I'm not 100% expert on this, but checking my Buchon books... The original prop fitted on the Spanish AF Buchonms is a four blader made by Rotol - BUT it isn'nt a Spit type Rotol, as the Spit is wooden and the Spanish Buchon's metal (as shown bu belly landing and groundloop shots by both).

Your question was the three bladed units. These fist appear at the time of the Battle of Britain film. - propr to that I can find no pics with 3 blade props. I've been told that the 3 bladers were 'penguins'. My guess - and it's a guess - is that the three blader units were something to hand - DC3(?) or possibly props from the HA1112 model with the Hispano Suiza engines which came before the Buchon - the props woul'd have been avaliable, and turned the same way, but that's still a big guess - anyone know more?

There's a pic on the Flypast bulletin board from Peter A with a few Buchons showing both - under 'BOBF Spit' IIRC.
Cheers
James
