The M-18 Hellcat used a 76mm main gun, and although the turrets appear similar, they are not the same. M-36 turret is a bit larger, and was only used on the M-36 series of vehicles. There were M-36s, M-36B1s, amd M-36B2s. The M-36B1 used standard, late model M4A3 Sherman hulls (Ford gasoline engines), while the M-36 (diesel) and M-36B2 (gasoline) had the flat steel hull as described and as appears in Tony's photo.
