I have a four year old daughter that will argue with anybody over the Herk and the Corsair being the greatest airplanes ever built!
I guess I could say the C-47 is juuuuuuust about even with the Herk as far as greatness goes. I don't think that either one of them will ever be replaced by something better. As for the Herk being an airliner, I think it would work fine. There just probably hasn't been a market for them.
