I don't know whether PRU pink ever made it into the official list of colours available from stores. Certainly PRU Blue and PRU Mauve were listed but IIRC the pink colour was mixed up at unit level from Roundel red and white - both of which were obviously available as standard colours. Remember though that the war time roundel red was "duller" -ie more of a "bricky" red than the post war shade

A (poor)colour photo of the pink Spitfires lined up in (?) Belgium during the war appeared in Aeroplane Monthly a while ago - i seem to remember that the pink seemed quite pale
