I have a few comments on the recovery of the Ehrler aircraft to correct some misinformation. Some people should not guess as to what is recovered. Jim Pearce and myself had known about the Me-109G2 for some time. The recovery actually took part at two different times. The aircraft did not arrive at Jim's strip in the same container as the Ju-88's. The Ju-88's arrrived in two 40' x 9' x 8' containers. The Me-109G2 arrived in a separate container. Some of the recovered material consisted of engine, prop hub and blades, spinner, main fuselage frames, partial instuments and panel, complete landing and tail gear, vertical fin, wing sections, fuselage sections, throttle quadrant and all engine conrols, pilot seat, canopy, to name just a few. It was not just an engine and a data plate.
