I'm sure it's turn will come to be refurbished and flown. Last I spoke with Kermit he was prioritizing the vast majority of his efforts into the construction of the next phase of the Fantasy of Flight compound. I suppose getting a roof over those planes is the first step toward proper preservation. It might at least allow him to pull some of the dusty disassembled projects out of storage. Maybe that ol' Lancaster will finally see the light of day :)
I'm betting Mr. Weeks would love to have his B-17, B-29, B-24 and Lancaster all in top airworthy condition. I think it will be a couple more decades before that happens though.
FWIW, the main hangar already has an extra 'notched' hangar door to accommodate the B-29's vertical tail. Maybe we'll see that one pulled out of the desert once the new phase of hangar construction is completed.
