: Are these the two that came up from Laredo, Texas?
The Commando did use to fly out of Laredo, not sure about the DC-3. Here's a brief description of what happened as posted by Marty Hall on the C-46 group:
>>>... Wind storm came thru
and tore up a hanger then very unpolitly shoved the parts into the
tail of the C-46. Worst part of it is it twisted the hell out of the
tail and fuselage. Also flipped a DC-3 over on it's back. The left
wing was bent with two 90 degree bends in what would normally be down.
I guess the wind pick the Three up, stood it on it's wing tip, and as
the wing bent, down she came on her back. There was a light plane that
ended up such a twisted mess all you could tell about it is in the
picture was that it was white with red and blue trim. hell of a storm
to not be called a tornado!...<<<
