My opinion is that there is no opinion more sacred than that of the immediate family when it comes to how we should regard the object in which one has lost their life. If Mr. Flack's widow spearheaded the restoration as a memorial to her husband, then she has my full support.

IMO I think people are way to sensitive to the issue of "things" in which people have lost their life. I believe they should be regarded in the same sense of sacredness as the person's memory who was lost, but should not be held sacrosanct to a fault. The delicate handling of the memory of those lost takes priority over all. If the rightful caretakers of the deceased's legacy wish to resurrect an inanimate object to help symbolize the memory of the dearly departed, no one has the right to enforce any actions to the contrary as far as I'm concerned.

More power to the widowed Mrs. Flack, and if seeing that car make it around the track once more brings her joy in the memory of her husband, more power to her.
