Rolls-Royce Heritage Trophy-one more view

Taking the chance that Brad and his C-17 will do a air drop on my house, I'm going to make a comment on 2 of the winners at Reno. Besides the fact that the L-4 and D-17 are from Oregon, Colin Powers is a friend of mine and John Lane is one of the nicest people you could ever meet. I always favor the little guy who did it all by himself. Very few warbird owners restore their own birds (with of course a couple notible exceptions). Colin started with a rusted and bent up pile of junk. What you see is 100% his effort. Larry Beck's was built up at a little podunk airstrip in Hubbard, OR by himself and a mech helper. Every plane there deserved a trophy and rest assured the FG will have a pile of them before the dust settles. As for our B-25, I think we got one once for making the biggest mess on the ramp!
