I also had the pleasure of meeting John Lane and some of the restoration crew in Idaho, just prior to the first flight of this Corsair, and I agree it was immaculate, and fully functional as it was originally built.
On to the Awards:
Presentation #1 "People's Choice Award Trophy" went to Gary Kohs and his FG-1D Corsair
Presentation #2 "The Orville and Wilbur Wright Trophy (Antique-pre 1935)" went to Scott Woods and his Waco UBF-2
Presentation #3 "The Paul E. Garber Trophy (Classic-Civilian 1936-1958)" went to Kent and Sandy Blankenburg and their Spartan 7W Executive (The green one)
Presentation #4 "The Henry 'Hap' Arnold Trophy (Warbird-pre 1959) went to Colin and June Powers and their Piper L-4H
Presentation #5 The Rolls-Royce Aviation Heritage Trophy (2003 Western Region Overall Winner) went to Larry Beck and his Beechcraft G-17S.
All of the aircraft present were beautifully restored, and all deserved a trophy of their own.
