Hi Pat, not too bad at all! Though they were hoping for about 50 aircraft (that many were resgistered), there were just under 30. Full size replicas included a Fokker D.VII, and 3 DR.Is, two of which were rotary-powered. All the other flyers were mostly scalled down variations of SE5s and Nieuports. There was a very nice full scale Nieuport 28 under construction which was on display. The owner (from Pennsylvania) hopes to have it flying at the next show. There was also a full scale Albatross project that was at the last show 3 years ago. Progress wasn't readily apparent, but it sounds as if he has been getting his engine problems sorted out.... as it will be powered by a genuine Mercedes! Another full scale DR.I and D.VII were on static display. I didn't make it down for the Friday show, but I heard that the weather and flying were great. Saturday was a carbon copy of Friday, and was very enjoyable. Sunday started off good, but the winds picked up by mid afternoon, and then the rain hit. Everything was pretty much finished by 3:30. I ducked into the museum around 2:00 to hide from the rain, and when I left an hour and a half later, everything was gone! All in all a good little show (at a great venue), and I can't wait for the next one. The only other 'WIXer' that I spoted was Jim Bates. What did you think, Jim? Highlight of the weekend was seeing 3 full scale Dr.Is flying in formation.... You don't see that very often!
