Paul and all,
names in northern Sweden are Lappish and some of them have swedish counterparts or translations. It seem like I?ve made a mistake when stating the name of the lake as ARVIDSJAUR. It should be ARVESJAURE which is situated close to ARVESTUOTTAR. (The names in Lappish are ?RVESJ?VVRE and ?RVESDUODDAR respectively.)

This should read Lake ARVEDJAURE and it?s a lake and I?m sure that ice-fishing is an option there as well!?
There is marshland and swamps in the area as well but ARVEDSJAURE is a lake.
As I understand it Petsamo is situated further north, some 350-450 km, where the borders of Sweden, Norway, Finland and Russia are close together.
In my opinion these two locations could not be confused.

Christer
