IIRC the 3 Hurricanes flying in the film represented to total airworthy population of type at the time - two from the BBMF and the Bob Diemert example(CF-SMI)which moved on to CWH via Strathallan and was ultimately destroyed in the hangar fire.
The model Hurricanes burned far more realistically than the model Spits because their contruction mirrored the real thing - fabric over a wooden frame. Shane about the QL refueller they destroyed though!
PS they were so short of flying Hurricanes that at one stage you see two Buchons painted in RAF camo and markings flying behind the airworthy Hurricanes.
PPS - anybody ever seen any colour photos of SEAC Mossies in camouflage????
