The T-6G was a remanufactured AT-6 or SNJ for the Korean War era (1949-1953- not sure of the exact dates). It functioned as a trainer, combining the primary (Stearman/N3N), basic (BT-13), and advanced trainers into one. They were standardized when they were rebuilt to remove the swivel seats from the gunnery version (found on some aircraft) and to convert the 12 volt versions to 24 volt. The hydraulic "Power Push" lever was eliminated in favor of an automatically energizing hydraulic system and they were fitted with steerable tailwheels to replace the Navy type swivel tailwheels that had to be manually locked straight ahead for takeoff. All provisions for guns were removed I believe also.
