Australian Cat in Italy

A friend just rang from Rome-Ciampino reporting a VH-registered Catalina. It apparently belongs to a Historic Aircraft Society or what not. He's trying to find out more and I might join him if time and work can be juggled. Meanwhile, any extra info welcome. The basic question - is it coming from or going to Oz?
