there is an article on a Liberator bomb aimer.. Anyway this guy visits the Soloman Islands in 1995 and hears that there could be Liberator remains in New Georgia.
He flies into Seghe, then onwardto Uepi and by canoe acroos Marovo Lagoon. Talks to some locals and they say it crashed in 1942. They guide him. "After landing on the overgrown shoreline, the B-24 was found not far inland. It made a good wheels up landing and remained upright". It was now overgrown by the jungle.
2 crew had died in the crash. Does anyone know the ID and if it is still there?
