The Dual serial mystery has been solved, and is availble if people want to know. But basically, the aircraft were shipped with an Australiam Air Ministry No on them (pictorial proof of this), and then later remarked in Aust with correct RAAF serial (and actually given away as being remarked on the Status Cards).
All airframes (with RAAF ID)noted by Mr Darby in PNG have been confirmed with the serials quoted matching the available data against both US serial/the AIr ministrry serila and the RAAF serial.
