Without seeing the photo, it's hard to know.
The French one mentioned by Harm was 123967 and crashed on 22 June 1963 (27 days before I was born) while flown by ensign Marion of Escadrille 12F. It had taken off from the carrier Arromanches with two others and was headed for Kartouba, near Tunis. Marion was recovered by a SAR helo. The wreck was rediscovered in 1985 and identified from Marion's wristwatch, still inside the cockpit. The Sardinian fishermen returned the watch to Marion.

The above is from Ali Antiche 67, with infor provided by the Frencn naval aviation historical society, ARDHAN.

: Trawled up from a much deeper depth it was dumped into the
: bay in shallow water to allow recovery of the net.

: Hence no engine or tail feathers in the area.
