The B-17 "landing" on one gear was an airshow act I believe origninated by the CAF as part of the Tora Tora show. The B17 does a touch and go with one main gear extended simulating a landing during the attack on Pearl Harbor. Sam Korth and Jim Orton were famous for this part of the act....
