Whilst searching for Typhoon parts last year I came across a gentleman who had a pair of Hornet engines sitting in his workshop. They weren't off the same machine but he said one of them had never been used on an aircraft.

He reckoned he had turned down offers of ?20000 for the pair and would rather split them for parts than sell them for less.

As an aside he had a couple of Merlins sitting in the workshop, one from a Hurricane MKI he said, and a complete Seafire. If you are interested in Seafires then you will probably know who I mean.....it requires work on one of the wings but the remainder has been rebuilt to airworthy standards (apparently!!)
