Hi Tulio--

Thanx for the rundown. Very interesting stuff...

: "45-11586" N-51HT

This is the registration, at least, of Harry Tope's '51 that was destroyed in a fiery fatal accident at Ottawa airshow in 1989. (1990? 91?)...Is the serial the same also, ie. another Warbird "resurrection" in progress?

: Ex-Uruguayan (FAU-252) AF F-51D, is almost ready to fly, n
: ow bears RCAF markings and City of Winnipeg Sqdn. titles,
: "AC-274" This airplane is now N-63476 (RCAF 9274, AAF s/n
: 44-63476). It looks really neat in the smart color scheme
: it wears. Left side titling on the airplane identifies it
: also as a Mustang Tactical Fighter Mk. 4.

That was evidently the way the RCAF "rewrote" the serial blocks on their postwar P-51Ds. CWH's first C-FBAU, which was painted in 424 (Aux) Sqn livery, was also marked "Mustang Tactical Fighter Mark 4". Interesting bit of detail. Would love to see 9274 firsthand sometime...

: To be rebuilt soon, is the original Racing Corsair F2-G2 (
: please correct my nomenclature, I believe it is wrong).

F2G-2 it is; this is another ex-Walter Soplata machine, owned now by the Crawford Museum in Cleveland OH and eventually to be on static display there. Cook Cleland won the 1947 Thompson Trophy race at Cleveland in this F2G.

: P-51D NL-151RJ, 44-74404 (Bob Odegaard's)B*CH, "474404"

Polished wings and painted fuselage...the reverse of what one often sees on a restoration. Pretty though. (What Stang isn't!)

: C-47/DC-3, N-1XP, 0-93800, s/n 4733, "Minnie H" painted on
: the nose, North Dakota ANG (41-48630).

Yep, that's the ex Canadian Coast Guard/DoT fleet bird.

Thanx again for the info...

S.
