PN323, where did the rest go

Hi All,
Just trying to sort some things out.
As you know the IWM has the nose section of Halifax PN323. There is a photograph taken in the early sixties showing this aircraft still complete but with a single tailfin and with its tail propped up in the air. Apparently the airframe was scrapped shortly afterwards.
Question 1: why was the nose section only removed?
Question 2: what happened to the undercarriage castings. I believe that the RAFM had one but it got somehow lost after YAM used it to make a moulding. What is true about the rumours that the other one ended up in New-Zealand?
Question 3: What exactly did happen with the rest of the airframe, was it scrapped immediately or was it stored somewhere and could something possibly have survived?
Over to you.
Cheers
Cees
