Dan--

A good point indeed. There's merit to both sides. On the side of Finland, the Finns had more success with the Brewster fighter than anyone else (by a country mile) and it very well represents their courage and tenacity; the Humu, while a remarkable survivor from the period, was only a prototype and represents the Finnish Brewsters only generally. On the side of Pensacola (or another US collection...Quantico comes to mind), the F2A was designed for the USN and was one of its first modern monoplane types, and equally well represents courage and tenacity on the part of the USN and USMC units who flew F2As against superior adversary types.

A question in my mind would be, is this aircraft an F2A, or is it an export B-239/339? If the former...it probably belongs at Pensacola or Quantico. If the latter, it belongs in Finland where it did its fighting. Technically. But what is of most import now is that someone with the resources to conserve/restore the Brewster obtain it as soon as possible...or from what I understand its destination will be a moot point. Whether that's Tampere or Pensacola, Quantico or Polk City, Chino or Duxford...time's a-wastin'!
