YAF No Shows

The show was very good this year. Unfortunately it seems that as every show becomes bigger and better, overlooked issues arise. No show is perfect but hopefully some improvements can make this the premiere warbird show of North America.

To stick to the topic of the post I just wondered if anyone could give me a detailed reason as to why there seemed to be some very noticeable gaps in the aircraft lineup. The organizers did a great job of updating the website to last days before the event; even removing the Firefly from the list which was only days before the show. I guess I thought with that much effort an appearance of all aircraft listed was almost guaranteed. I know that there are always weather, maintanence etc issues. that will keep a plane from attending. But I just hope that some information can be provided so that rumours can be put to rest. I especially wonder what keeps happening to a particular P-47 that seems to be a little "camera shy".

There were a few aircraft that appeared, such as the A-26 Spirit of N.C. and the YAF B-25 and Riff Raff that were not expected and that helped make up for the negatives. Plus Roush's P-51 record time restoration was something not seen everyday in warbird operations.

I could probably type pages more as I love to talk warbirds. Maybe I can get others opinions and maybe a few replies from the organizers.

Thanks
