: First, lets define some basic assumptions about this quest
: ion. 1. You can visit any time period in aviation history.
: 2. Your invisible and can't alter history. 3. You can fly
: like superman.
:
: Given these three parameters, what 5 historical aviation e
: vents would you like to witness?
:
: Mine are:
:
: 1. Pearl Harbor
: 2. Battle Of Britain
: 3. Battle Of Midway (hovering above Ensign Gay seems a goo
: d spot)
: 4. Watching a Ju 87G make a gun run at a T-34
: 5. Flying in a B-17 stream over Europe, mid-1944.
:
: What would you guys pick?
:
: Also, a sixth choice would be to watch my father launch of
: f a carrier for the first time in an A-3.

In reference to the A-3 Cat Shot,a former U.S,Navy F-8/RF-8 pilot named Carley Wayman flew with me hauling explosives for Express Airways in Beech-18's in the late 70's.He told me that he once rode through a catapult launch sitting in the rear facing cockpit seat in an A-3 and it was amazing to see the aircraft carrier catapulted aft at 100 knots.Carley has a way with words.
