We had just admired the details of the racer at OSH on Saturday afternoon, right before heading home. I too, feel like this one hits close to home. I did have the pleasure of seeing it fly last October at the Nellis AFB air show.
That airplane was absolutely a work of art. The design was fabulous to begin with and Mr Wright did a magnificent job recreating it. The sheet metal work was phenominal. You could see your face clearly in it. It's such a shame to lose such an artist and his life's work both.
