Hello Rob,
A Seafire IIc was shipped to the US in April 1943 and registered 'FS-1' by the US Navy. A Griffon engined Seafire XV also arrived at the US Naval Test Centre in June 1945. This is presumed to be Patuxant. There are quite a few shots of the Seafire II, devoid of a British military serial, in existance that have a 1950's look to them. The final fate of this particular machine has always been a mystery. Perhaps we are on the trail? Are there any dates on the report?
