Andrew:
AR614 along with some of Don's other a/c were sold after he passed away some years ago. He was a senior member of the Cdn Aviation Historical Society and responsible for many of the aircraft being held at Rockcliffe. He was good friends with Bob Bradford and Ken Molson who lead the creation of the NAM in Ottawa around 1965+.
I had a chance to speak with Don just after he had a stroke some years ago. I had to speak with him as he was the best person to speak with in clearing up some of the stories of the other Spitfires that were in Canada during and after WWII. Don said he would help me in any way he could concerning an article I am writing about the other 11 Spitfires that were in Canada from 1940 to 1953. Don gave me the names of a few persons and was amazed at what came about. Hope to have this article published very soon. Everytime I am ready to publish it some new material comes about that envolves some more digging.
Lee
