If we are going to define 'Flyer'/Airworthy as 'push the button and go' I think we will all end up chasing our tails. The number will vary on a daily basis and the use of the list, presumably to give intersted WIX parties the overall general situation, will be lost. This problem was solved on the Flypast 'Spitfires on the Wing' supplement last year by adding a few definition sub groups - Airworthy under maintenance, under accident repair, or more importantly 'resting', the latter to cover aircraft restored to flight status but not flown in recent times. In the case of the Flypast Spitfire supplement it was decided to draw a line at the Battle of Britain film in 1968 and list all aircraft that subsequently had air under all three tyres using their own motive power.
In the case of Hurricanes I would be intersted to know the 'Airworthy' number and also the how many projects are in process and ownership where Airworthy status is a realistic objective. Another four or five perhaps? More?
