Hi Cees,

For the record, I have the remains of several Frazer Nash turrets.

I am using the parts of two FN5 front turrets to complete one. The donor turrets were from a Lancaster and a Wellington and the turret is being restored as a Lancaster turret. I have pretty much all I need except for an original cupola...can anyone help??

Aiding the restoration of the front turret are parts from another four FN 150 mid-uppers (all ex-Lancaster). When the front turret is finished, I will restore the best of the mid-uppers. I have already donated a turret ring to Elvington so this leaves at least another restoration project for someone, with spares left over. I have a decent cupola for this one - the mid-uppers must have made better cloches because of their size and shape!

Out of interest, the majority of these turrets came out of one of those legendary "holes in the ground" that attract so much speculation on boards such as this. They were all slightly mangled, with parts missing and all had suffered corrosion but to differing degrees and varying effect: fortunately, I have been able to squeeze just about enough useable spares to complete the two turrets without too much difficulty but the third will require either a fresh injection of original parts or some fabrication of new ones.

Regards!
