You are right about the aircraft being flown to the UK with faired over turret positions, so the two fn5's must have come from two Canadian Lancasters that made it back or never left Canada. When the Strathallan Collection acquired their Lancaster from Canada in the seventies there were some photo's of tailturrets lying buried in a few feet of snow going nowhere.
And yes you are right on me visiting the Air Gunners Room at Elvington for some obscure reason. Very interesting collection with al sorts and types of British turrets, including one from a Hudson.
