Thanks everyone!

Jagan, are there any Japanese aircraft remains in Indian museums? I am aware of the remains in the Andamans but wondered if there were any other bits tucked away that could be looked at. Unfortunately I don't think i'll be able to get out to the islands.

Thanks

: Hi, Elliot,
:
: Bangalore is a nice place to visit. It is the homebase for
: HAL (Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd). As such, the place is li
: ttered with Gate Guardians at quite a few places.
:
: Take time out to visit the HAL Aerospace Museum and Herita
: ge Center. All the details (Phone numbers, location, fees
: , yada yada) are at this url

:
: There are 12 aircraft at last count and may have been join
: ed by more. Though none are of WW2 vintage, you will find
: a few of them interesting. The best part of the museum is
: the Gallery section, where some rare pictures dating back
: to WW2 have been displayed . Liberators, Tempests, Cats, H
: udsons, etc..lovely pics.
:
: Bangalore also has other aircraft in display around the ci
: ty. This link would be helpful. http://www.warbirdsofindia

:
: Poona (Pune) on the other hand is quite far from Bangalore
: and trying to visit the airfield (lohegaon) will require
: lot of pull (As the base is home to some latest and sensit
: ive acquisitions). I have been to Lohegaon and checked out
: almost 60-70% of the airfield by jeep. Haven't seen a sin
: gle item of interest apart from droptanks used by Canberra
: s!. Still one airman told me about a 'jungle'(!) where wre
: cked aircraft are dumped..but never had the time and acces
: s to check it up.
