Didn't see the crash - it was off the airfield the other side of the motorway. Display was suspended for 30 minutes, but no anouncement was made about what happened to the crew...
Other "excitement" was Stephen Grey doing a solo display in a Spit (XIV?) without the under carriage being fully retracted. Control couldn't contact him by radio so fired a couple of red flares - which set fire to the grass runway!
Then a Mustang (TF51?) presumably didn't get 3 greens, and after a couple of slow passes for a visual check landed OK, shutting down the engine while still rolling, with the fire engines chasing him down the runway.
