Hi All,

First Tony if you came to Maine and try to recover said B-18 with out first talking with the following groups in order.

1 Maine Aviaition Historical Society: Get their blessings
2 Maine State Historicl Society: To get the Permit
3 Maine Dept. Of Enviroment: To get Permit
4 State Police: To get over road permit
5 USAF: To get their permission

Then you would be just like the fools who are trying to pull up a certain two FAA/RN corsairs.

Now as for are little B-17 prob. In 1997 the USAFM introduced alittle unknow law that states thro they do'nt have ownership they still must be contact before the aircraft is recovered so to answer the first part Mr. Brooks needs to have the USAFM to sign off first, then the RCAF gets it two cents or is the two loons in. Then the Prov. gov. I've been down this road with a Yale that is sitting on New Brunswick side of the Maine/New Brunswick border.

As for Reilly's 24 the aircraft was on private land and the land owner gave him permission to recover it. the land owner also had recieved permission from the RCAF to have Tom recover this 24. Mr. Larkins had the proper permits for the P-39 it was an over zealuos border guard who put up the stink.

Tony just to let you know that B-18 was clean up by the USAAF after the crash. Their are some small bits laying around but nothing to write home about.

Cheers Rob
