Thanks lurker, you are oh so right.
I think they just try to put people off by throwing their political might at any would be recovery teams aiming to bring back missing persons. But they cannot stop it how hard they try.
I mean if the families involved want them recovered why not doing that. Mark Kirby gave the MOD a hard time some years ago.
And if the MOD (or any other gouvernment including the Dutch) doesn't want to effect a recovery, there is always the power of the press. Works anytime.
Mind you, there is no reason whatsoever that airmen should remain in a socalled "wargrave" unless the next of kin wishes so. The bottom line is that a wreck should be recovered because of the missing persons inside, and not the other way round. No wreck is more valuable then any missing airmen.
